Trends in the Marketplace & Fostering Community Connections
We stay on top of trends, emerging technologies, and ways to increase connectivity in today’s business landscape. As industry norms evolve in advertising—whether through new opportunities in the digital landscape, the introduction of countless AI initiatives, or our commitment to one of our core pillars, women in business—numerous events inspire our curiosity and drive our purpose. Last week, employees from various departments and levels within our team journeyed to leading events to explore new ways of thinking, networking, and further enhancing connectivity in all that we do.
Advertising Week 2024
Our team learned about the latest innovations and the approach needed for the future: “Get Involved Sooner, rather than Later.” The event last week, held in the Penn District of Manhattan, featured a strong lineup of sessions covering generative AI, innovation across digital platforms like streaming and CTV, and the authenticity needed in advertising. Our “hot take” focused on how to engage younger generations and stand out from the crowd.
Be Brave – Think creatively but stay relevant.
Be Authentic – Consumers are drawn to real emotions and thoughts, highlighting the need for accurate representation of different communities.
Make an Impact – Particularly with the Gen Z audience, supporting various causes and incorporating them into your media plans provides thought-provoking and supportive messaging.
Mirren AI & Tech Summit
Just when you think you have a handle on what is happening in AI, you attend an event like this and see how much more there is to learn and how quickly things are evolving. This summit covered everything from the newest in AI development to tips, tricks, and insights on how to get more out of AI.
Here were some of our key topics/takeaways:
AI is not coming for your job but people that learn to adopt and best utilize AI will begin to pull ahead.
Stop thinking of using AI as taking shortcuts and start thinking of it as enhancing your productivity.
Data Security is more important than ever and ensuring the AI systems you use meet your data privacy and security standards is a must before feeding them any of your data.
AI is just a tool to enhance what we build, it will make good ideas better but also make bad ideas worse. We still need human input for true creativity.
NJ Conference for Women
Women from MSI attended one of the largest one-day gatherings of professional women in the State of New Jersey. This power-packed conference provides over 700 women with the opportunity to network with their peers, learn new strategies for professional growth, and forge transformative connections with others in the business community.
A favorite session from this event was “Harnessing the Power Within,” which encouraged women to look within themselves on a journey to wholeness. This included embracing strengths, imperfections, and creative lives that reflect core values and purpose. The speaker introduced a concept called the “Wholeness Reset,” which includes four sections for reflection. Give the exercise a try by reflecting on the sections below (either personally or professionally!)
Eliminate: Identify habits or behaviors you want to let go of that hinder your growth.
Elevate: List Habits and behaviors you want to incorporate in your life and routine.
Ease Up/Do Less: Identify and release habits and behaviors that no longer serve you, that drain your energy, time and resources without adding significant value to your life.
Engage More/Do More: List habits or behaviors you want to engage in more. Include activities that contribute to your growth, well-being and overall fulfillment.
