Cedar Knolls, NJ, (Wednesday June 7, 2017) – Monica C. Smith, CEO of Marketsmith Inc., and her company will be honored with the NJ Governor’s Jefferson Award for Public Service at a special ceremony to be held June 19 at the Newark Museum.

The New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Awards is a joint program administered by The Community Foundation of New Jersey, The Star-Ledger Powering NJ.com, and The Governor’s Advisory Council on Volunteerism, with support from corporate underwriters. It is a local program of The Jefferson Awards, which is a national volunteer recognition program established in 1972 by the American Institute for Public Service in cooperation with the U.S. Senate and the White House.

Monica and her team also provide the families with warm coats, books and grocery store gift cards. In 2015, the sustainability initiative was expanded to include the Cedar Hills CDC After School Program in Boonton, which provides affordable childcare for working, but struggling families as well as an enriched environment for learning, as well as nutritious food.
