At the College of Mount Saint Vincent, students had six months to develop an innovative and exciting business plan to have a chance to win the Marketsmith, Inc. Award for Entrepreneurship.
The college received nearly 25 business plans from students across all majors, which were narrowed down to 4 finalists:
Mikaela Blanchard | Collegiate Dance Challenge
Juliette Borghesan | Nurse Now
Elise Fober | Elise’s Craft Space
Isordoros Bartzkokas | Bases Loaded Baseball
The panel was comprised of business leaders from various industries:
Kathryn Swintek | Managing Partner, Golden Seeds Fund 2 LP
Chuck Chaplin | Chairman, Brighthouse Financial
Patrick Yu | Partner, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP
Nicholas Cappiello | Supervising Project Manager, Financial Accounting Standards Board
After much deliberation, the 2019 Marketsmith, Inc. Award for Entrepreneurship was awarded to Juliette Borghesan!
Borghesan is a junior nursing student and presented her business plan for Nurse Now.
Nurse Now is a mobile app which connects patients with Registered Nurses (RNs) to assist with their medical needs by facilitating on-demand quality long-term or short-term care. RNs and patients can connect, schedule appointments, communicate through chat, and securely make payments through third-party integrations.
We’re so proud of all those who participated and want to thank you for sharing your business plans with the Mount community and Marketsmith, Inc. Congratulations!
