Senior Accounting Specialist / EAC President
Michael joined Marketsmith Inc. in 2016 and quickly became an integral part of the organization in ways that extend well beyond his role in accounting. Everyone in the Marketsmith Inc. family, from co-workers to clients and vendors, has benefitted from Michael’s professionalism, as well as from his infectious spirit.
Michael has been central to building, maintaining, and improving accounting automation for the agency. The systems he has implemented not only improve efficiency of agency accounting functions but free other agency personnel to spend less time on issues of process and more time dealing directly with client needs. More than a “back room” professional, however, Michael brings a human touch to his dealings with clients and vendors, who also benefit from his focus on addressing all questions in a timely, efficient, and upbeat manner.
Michael also shines in his other, and just as critical, role as president of the Marketsmith Inc. Employee Action Committee (EAC). The EAC is a unique corporate entity that puts employees in charge of office morale, professional development, and community service. Michael brings his experience and enthusiasm to all three functions, leading and inspiring all MSI employees in pursuing their own personal and professional passions.
Michael received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad de Puerto Rico Humacao. After graduating, he volunteered as a tutor and mentor with AmeriCorps Vista before beginning a career in sales and customer service and later moving into accounting. In addition to his business career, Michael has been a professional DJ, both in Puerto Rico and New Jersey. He continues to do the occasional gig and looks forward to getting the entire Marketsmith Inc. team back on the dance floor once we can all gather again safely.
By keeping the finances flowing, the EAC running, and the vinyl spinning, you can truly say that Michael is the heart “beat” of Marketsmith Inc..< Previous
