Father’s Day since then has never been easy. My Dad always enjoyed the fact that the day was all about him. One tradition we had was going to Lord & Taylor to buy him an outfit. I loved doing it and he loved wearing it. Lord & Taylor was very much a part of the fabric of my parents’ generation. They treated it like an institution, a hallowed place.

What was absolutely astonishing to me was the economics of the event and the fact this event was a microcosm of every night in every city she has played around the globe.

No matter whom I told I was going to see Gaga, each said to me, “She played here last week,” “My cousin just saw her.” Even my eight year old son wanted to go.
