Monica C. Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
Monica C. Smith is an accomplished direct marketer, successful entrepreneur, and community servant. To each of these roles she brings strong convictions and personal passion that inspires her team, her clients, and all those who work with her.

Monica's has leveraged her expertise in direct marketing to build Marketsmith, the company she founded in 1999, into the industry's leading provider of multi-channel marketing strategy, customer insight, analysis, and channel optimization services. Marketsmith offers a unique combination of servicesfrom high-level strategic consulting to first-class hands-on management and executional supportensuring her clients have the formula and resources for success. Marketsmith was honored by Price Waterhouse Coopers this past spring as the 44th fastest-growing company in New Jersey - one of only two female-owned companies to earn this distinction.

Monica steers the marketing strategy for some of the best known Brands in America - retailers, catalogers, specialty retailers, manufacturers, nonprofits and other multichannel marketers. She touches dozens of companies each day helping them understand and measure the impact of the customer communication in a multichannel environment and providing strategic leadership that positions clients for growth and success. She has the proven ability to work effectively with both Fortune 100 corporate leaders as well as successful entrepreneurs. As an independent thinker and respected leader she is an extraordinary role model for her team. Inspired at young age by her large family and early athletic training, she truly lives her motto "To make our clients and ourselves better than we were the day before."

Monica is constantly fielding calls from industry colleagues and media who are interested in her strategic insight on topics including industry trends and market conditions, business rules for data capture in a retail environment, and how to restructure the marketing department. She is also publisher of a quarterly newsletter called "The Difference" which addresses major issues facing the industry such as postal increases, privacy and do not mail legislation, and offers hands on advice for improving performance using such tools as matchbacks or co-op prospect models or saving money in an environment of constantly rising costs.

Monica is a true entrepreneur. She chose direct marketing as her career because it was an industry largely created by entrepreneurs who share a passion for their craft and a commitment to success. Extending the reach of her passion and commitment, Monica sits on the Board of the America Catalog Mailers Association (ACMA), helping to fight for the health of the industry she loves.

Prior to founding Marketsmith, Monica earned her stripes working for catalogers and list broker/managers, where she implemented new programs and set sales records, working for distinguished companies like Waldenbooks, RR Donnelley/Metromail and re-launched Boston Proper for the then Mark Group. She got a taste of entrepreneurialism from the Minneapolis based Novus Marketing.

Monica is also a dedicated friend to animals. She is the co-founder of "One More Smith" a non-profit organization created and supported by the "Smith animals" (her own) that houses and supports animals with medical disabilities, along with those less likely to be placed in adoption. In its ninth year, the organization currently cares for over 60 animals.

She graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York, where in 2005 Marketsmith, Inc. created and funded an entrepreneurship scholarship program in conjunction with the college offering classes in entrepreneurship. The award provides seed money to seniors judged by a panel of entrepreneurs and faculty to have created the most promising business plans, and made its first award in May 2008.

In the Spring of 2008, Monica was given the "Alumna of Achievement " award by her high school, Marylawn of the Oranges.

Susan J. Pizzano, Executive Vice President
With an accomplished reputation and a masterful command of circulation, Susan joined Monica at Marketsmith five years ago and developed the groundwork for what is now the leading direct marketing resource in North America.

A skilled leader, Susan works with more than twenty clients a day and runs the tactical and analytical sides of the Marketsmith business. Susan's winning skill set allows her to move to a detailed level plan of action and execution without missing a beat or a deadline.

Among her many accomplishments in her four years at Marketsmith, Susan has turned around nonprofits, taken over for a staff of four for the fastest growing catalog in the country within 24 hours and, most recently, has orchestrated the greatest turnaround of the century by overseeing the execution for one of the largest general merchandise catalogers of our time. She stands today as a strategic circulation expert with an impeccable track record in both the nonprofit and for-profit arenas.

Prior to her tenure at Marketsmith, Inc., Susan was the key figure in growing and driving the success of the Dr. Leonard's Healthcare catalog, including Carol Wright Gifts, for seven years. She was one of the key factors in the early success of Hanover Direct, where Colonial Garden Kitchens and Kitchen & Home fell under her tutelage. Susan started her career at Prudent Publishing directly after graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Business Administration. Susan is a frequent speaker on the DMA circuit and other industry events, always focusing on the need to be fiscally aware of the value of one's customer database.

Davey Rosenbaum, Vice President of Operations
Davey is a published author and a five-year Marketsmith veteran. She adds a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to the Marketsmith talent pool. Davey is an invaluable resource, daily utilizing her experience in marketing communications, research, statistics and analysis. With a command of both online and offline marketing for the nonprofit and for-profit worlds, Davey crafts actionable marketing briefs, culminated from research and client data. She documents practice, process and results and is one of the few industry professionals capable of practicing this type of marketing, which further emboldens Marketsmith's reputation as the undisputed "go-to" company for marketing strategy.

Davey's experience prior to Marketsmith includes an impressive list of remarkable marketing organizations, such as the Washington Post, GTE Worldwide, The McKnight, Bush, Minneapolis, Pillsbury Foundations and Cowles Media. Her well-rounded background gives the Marketsmith, Inc. team another corporate viewpoint in media, research and planning. Davey's educational background further emphasizes her capabilities, with a BA from Smith College and an MBA from the Colgate Darden School, University of Virginia. |

Michael Waksbaum, Vice President of Analytics
Marketsmith’s ability to gain insight into numbers for the past four years has been guided and strengthened by Michael Waksbaum.

Michael’s analytic sophistication is manifested in his ability to predict and build profit and loss statements and audits and to refine and ensure quality data points. His advanced mathematical skill set and intellectual capacity produce results that are 100% statistically valid and enable rollouts within months, rather than years.

Throughout his career, Michael has provided consistency, conservatism and a solid understanding of what one may predict, and what is unrealistic for some of the most well-known brands in U.S. American commerce. His recall and benchmark abilities are unrivaled.

Some of the many brands Michael has impacted are Lillian Vernon, Mokrynskidirect, J.Crew, Newport News, Brownstone Studio, Barbara George and Avon Fashions. His educational dossier includes a BA from Columbia University, dual degrees from The Jewish Theological Seminary, and an MBA from New York University.

Amy Allan Smith, Chief Operating Officer
Amy joined Marketsmith in 2006 after a 6 year tenure with Equifax Marketing Services, where she was responsible for customer relationship management for some of the largest direct marketing agencies in the industry. Well-known for her relationships with key industry players, Amy leverages her steady hand and centered persona to assist Marketsmith's growth and prosperity.

Her even temper and client-centric demeanor make Amy a great fit in a high-paced, demanding business model. Prior to Equifax, Amy worked as a client services director for Specialists Marketing Services. During her 12 years at ADP, Inc. Amy's training and customer-centric nature was honed, as she rose through the ranks of a great American company. Amy graduated from the University of Hartford with a BA in Psychology.
