Marketsmith was founded in 1999 by Monica C. Smith, when she recognized a need in the marketplace for a holistic approach to multi-channel marketing. With the explosion of brands building free-standing stores, and brands and retailers alike moving into direct mail and e-commerce, smart companies realized they needed an integrated approach that allowed them a 360 degree view of their customers shopping behavior and what marketing programs consumers were responding to.
