DO YOU FEEL LIKE A SOCIAL OUTCAST?
Remember when iLike Flickr was Justin.tv, Twitter was something your aunt did, Pandora was responsible for all that was bad in the world, you pored over the Facebook to see who all the cute freshmen were, Delicious referred to your mom’s cooking, Bebo was the chimpanzee who did all the tricks at the zoo, and Mister Wong ran the only Chinese restaurant in town?
Now we Reddit, but we can’t spell; e’s replace other vowels – ePinions, or are left out all together – Tumblr, Zoomr, and Flickr; we StumbleUpon LinkedIn and Skype; we are offered a Second Life; and we have learned to share MySpace. We have SmugMugs as we Digg or Mixx wetpaint; and no cares if we Yelp.
We are on the cusp of a communication revolution. Our options for communicating with our customers have increased exponentially over the past few years. Each brand needs to evaluate the various methodologies and determine what works best with what customer groups to communicate which kind of information in order to achieve what desired outcomes. Marketsmith can help you explore and assess the value of new contact media and strategies. Contact us if you would like a copy of our glossary of social media terms.
